The Women's Association

The Women’s Association is a community of women working together to redefine the historically imposed idea that dictates what a woman can be.

We are a female-owned business committed to creating a world where women believe they can be whoever they want to be. We do this through conversation, collaboration and by challenging the historical expectations that have been imposed on women for decades.

THE STORY

2013

Deborah's Dissertation

2014

Women in Management

Deborah spoke to the women she had interviewed about the importance of sharing their story and she ran the first event with 60 women in attendance and over 100 on the waiting list for future events. There were speakers from BT, Virgin, PwC, Google and BDP sharing their story and opportunities with the audience.

2016

Working with Schools

After running a series of events for university students and above, Deborah believed that it was important to make the same information and opportunities available to younger girls so we brought the conversations to secondary schools and colleges so the information they receive can help them to make better-informed decisions.

2018

The Women's Association

After running events for 4 years and hearing the experiences of many women from lower to senior levels, Deborah desired to create a business that would empower a community of women to come together so that as a collective we can empower the next generation as a result The Women's Association was born.

2018

Our First Non-Executive

We appointed our first non-exec to the board;  'Fiona Clutterbuck.'  Fiona was appointed as a non-executive director of Paragon Bank in 2012 and became Chair in May 2018, making her the first female Chair of a bank. Fiona has many years of financial experience at leading UK and international banks, specialising in financial institutions.

2019

The Event Series

Deborah has been to and organised many female empowerment events over the years which leaves women empowered but doesn't contribute to changing the way things are. She wanted to create events that help to build a community of women, working together to help change the imposed ideas of what a woman should be.
