Senior Compliance Engineer (Electrical & Electronic Systems)

Would you like to play a key role in the implementation and delivery of legislative compliance within a dynamic engineering environment? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Compliance Engineer at our site in either Frimley or Weymouth.

As a Senior Compliance Engineer, you will be reporting to the Principal Engineering Manager, being responsible for the legislative compliance of electrical and electronic products, specifically relating to submarine combat systems.

This role will provide you with an exciting opportunity to create high quality guidance and processes for legislative compliance across submarine combat systems products, whilst influencing and shaping legislative compliance across the wider business.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Compliance Engineer (Electrical & Electronic Systems) will involve:

Defining the legislation applicable to our products

Monitoring the level of compliance of deliverables from subcontractors and internal product teams

Implementing and updating internal processes for legislative compliance

Interfacing with stakeholders across other BAE Systems Submarines sites to implement and improve legislative compliance processes

Educating the engineering and project community on legislative compliance and ensuring this is appropriately implemented and maintained across the relevant teams

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Compliance Engineer (Electrical & Electronic Systems):

Essential:

Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent

CEng or working towards Chartered Status

Demonstrable experience of legislative compliance management for electrical/electronic products, ideally including:

    Health and Safety at Work Act

      PUWER

        Low Voltage Directive

          Machinery Directive

            EMC Directive

              REACH Directive

                Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive

                  Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations

                  Desirable:

                  Previous experience with Type Approval of Marine Systems

                  Awareness of the environment and structure of the submarine, essential requirements, standards and limitations would be beneficial

                  Complex Systems and Support (CS&S) is part of BAE Systems Submarines.
