Quality Leader - Jigs & Tools (Strategic Manufacture)

Would you like to be responsible for delivering of quality inputs into the programme Jig and Tool Organisation across a cross-functional programme? We currently have a vacancy for a Quality Leader at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As a Quality Leader, you will be responsible for providing technical support within the discipline, as well as the development of quality processes. You will represent the quality function at all levels of management and take personal responsibility for the delivery of the quality elements of the programme in the jig and tool organisation.

This role will also provide you with the opportunity to influence and develop a new way of working in the Jig & Tool design area.

Your main responsibilities as a Quality Leader will involve:

Maintain measures and reporting on Quality Supplier performance

Managing the review and approval of Inspection & Test Plans for each Jig/Tool including appropriate hold points

Liaising with the Production Engineering Department (PED) and the Dimensional Management team to understand and define the inspection requirements

Managing governance processes supporting the quality aspects of Jigs and Tools including process audit

Managing supplier audits to assure adherence to BS EN 1090

Managing Functional Documentation associated directly to the Jig & Tool Organisation

Providing support to contract reviews/kick-off meetings with suppliers

Deputising for the Quality Manager

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Quality process experience gained from one of the following backgrounds (or similar) : steelwork/ precision machining/ fabrication/ weld inspection/ paint inspection/ jig manufacture

Familiarity with British Standards BSEN1090

Desirable:

Educated to HND level or equivalent experience
