Engineering Manager - Metrology (Calibration & Test Services)
We currently have a vacancy for an Engineering Manager at our site in Barrow.

As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for reporting on cost, quality and schedule. Working with technical authorities within the company and will be responsible for maintaining people capability within facilities currently consisting of 32+ engineers, across disciplines including EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), Mechanical, Electrical, , Radiation, Temperature etc.

This is an opportunity to further develop an established niche service area into a proactive unit and expand the existing test and calibration opportunity within the wider business. This is an opportunity to embed a fresh perspective in technical service delivery and drive measurable improvements.

Your main responsibilities as an Engineering Manager - Metrology (Calibration & Test Services) will involve:

Managing Talent and leadership of a highly skilled group of engineers in the calibration and test services area.

Tracking and identifying emerging opportunities to develop the people capability within the department and driving improvements.

Heading the transition of this department to a proactive department that anticipates the demands of the services areas customer base by identifying opportunity for test and calibration services.

Your essential skills and qualifications:
Essential:
Established people leadership experience.
Proven experience of taking the lead on technical service delivery.
Engineering or technical background.
Demonstrated projects-based skillset.
Desirable:

A wide understanding of calibration and testing of equipment (EMC, Radiation, Electrical, Mechanical, Dimensional, etc.)

Knowledge of quality management.
Involvement in assurance or standards activities.
