Engineer - Support Engineering (Change Control)
We currently have a vacancy for an Engineer at our site in Barrow.
As an Engineer, you will be reporting directly to the Principal Project Engineer the role will comprise of standard Change Control duties as defined by the relevant defence standards.
This role will provide you with future career opportunities which could include progression to senior engineer level, as well as the chance to be supported in obtaining Chartership.
Your main responsibilities as an Engineer will involve:
Represent Integrated Support at Platform Change Management Committee meetings.
Maintenance of the Support Tracker database to ensure all ECR records are accurately recorded and status updates maintained in accordance with local process.
Provide support to fellow Core Project Engineering team
Assisting in other areas of the department as and when required
Your skills and qualifications as an Engineer:
Experience of managing/co-ordinating change
Experience dealing with Stakeholders and liaising with other functions
To either understand, or have the ability to personally develop and understand basic Engineering principles.
What we're looking for in you:
Engineering degree would be desirable but not essential.
Computer literate, TeamCenter experience would be desirable but not essential.
Proactive, keen and be able to work in a team environment
Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.
The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.
