We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior Employee Communications Manager.

The purpose of the role is to support the Head of Communications in managing and executing the employee communications strategy across UK CMB (Commercial Banking), in order to drive employee engagement and help deliver the business’s people objectives.

The role holder will act as communications partner to selected members of the CMB leadership team, working closely with them and their support teams to deliver an effective leadership communications plan. Strong stakeholder management, creating engaging content, and understanding the audience in order to manage distribution of that content are all key to success in this role.

In this role, you will:
  • Support the delivery of an effective, clear employee communications plan that supports the Commercial Banking within HSBC UK

  • Act as communications partner and trusted adviser to 3-4 members of the CMB Leadership Team, working closely with their support teams on a day-to-day basis.

  • Create compelling content and messages using storytelling to engage employees about the progress and priorities of CMB UK, and celebrate the importance of their roles within it

  • Recommend and deliver engaging methods of communicating key messages – including email, broadcast, and live events

  • Ensure all communications activities are developed with the strategic priorities and people objectives in mind

  • Position key members of the Leadership Team as recognised and trusted figures

  • Develop excellent knowledge and understanding of HSBC and CMB UK in order to be effective in role

  • Arm people managers with briefings and materials that inform and mobilise employees

  • Collaborate with media relations colleagues on external messages to mitigate risks

  • Build effective working relationship with global CMB colleagues
