Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.


Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.


We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2019 and beyond, we are currently seeking an experienced Global Head of HSBCNet to join HSBC Technology.

What you will be doing;

HSBCNet is the name given to both legacy & transformational ‘digital’ technologies which support commercial products & services for our Corporate clients.

The Global Head of HSBCNet is an existing position. It is a key role having responsibility across all Technology disciplines and staff globally to ensure a consistent high quality delivery of technology solutions for the CMB business in a cost effective manner.

  • The Global Head of HSBCNet is the primary engagement point with the business product owners for a discrete set of IT Services

  • Accountable for the availability, resilience, integrity, performance and security of their discrete set of IT Services including supporting applications and infrastructure

  • Accountable for the implementation and operation of the full range of service management disciplines within and across their DevOps Pods, including but not restricted to the management of incident, recovery, problem, change, non-functional requirements, performance, capacity, service levels, configuration, assets

  • Full commercial accountability for operations of the DevOps team including P&L and budget management

  • Accountable for maintaining mandatory / regulatory compliance of the IT Services managed by the DevOps team

  • Global Head of HSBCNet reports to the Head of SME Channels and Digital IT and is responsible for maintaining the Agile/DevOps operating model across a DevOps Team, including establishing effectively resourced product groups
