About the unit

The advisory and programme delivery unit delivers services to projects ranging in scale and complexity from a few million pounds to £20bn through the technical disciplines of land advisory, programme management, project management, project controls, scheduling, cost management, estimating, infrastructure finance, management consulting, digital consulting, education and healthcare management.

Our transportation portfolio is primarily a UK based business working in four key sectors of rail, highways, land and aviation. We deliver programme, project and commercial management services to clients in mainland Europe, Africa, Middle East, India and Australasia while supporting other parts of the transportation business across the globe.

We're a dynamic unit with exciting opportunities and challenges ahead, and you'll be key to keeping our teams safe and well.

Candidate Specification :

The ideal Health & Safety Account Lead will possess the following skills and attributes;

  • You must hold a recognised H&S qualification and relevant Professional Membership (i.e. CMIOSH).

  • Have a good breadth of operational experience, across the regulated infrastructure industry.

  • A solid appreciation and understanding of health and safety legislation and its application.

  • Experience of developing and leading large teams.

  • Recognised as an industry leader in your profession.

  • A clear passion for Health, Safety and Wellbeing.

The successful applicant will be required to engage, develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, employees and stakeholders across the Advisory Unit and the wider Mott MacDonald and must possess excellent communication skills and effective planning and time management skills.

Some travel will be required within the UK.

As the Account Leader you will be expected to develop our HS&W service offering to the next level; winning great health and safety work, growing the account to maximise opportunity for Mott MacDonald, and being accountable for the delivery of excellent projects.

Your role and responsibilities will include the following;

  • Develop and implement the Unit H, S & W business strategy to deliver service growth and delivery excellence.

  • Developing strong and robust client relationships

  • Growing and developing key Accounts within Mott MacDonald in response to organisational needs and Mott MacDonald strategy

  • Identifying and converting health and safety opportunities into projects;

  • Delivering commercially robust projects and quality outcomes for Clients to budget on schedule through project teams

  • Managing risk and commercial performance on the projects for their Accounts.

. An account leader may have several Bid and Project Principals reporting to them on their accounts

  • Working effectively to grow the right resources to deliver both Mott MacDonald's and our clients aspirations.

  • Promote an active health, safety and wellbeing culture across the unit.
