Core Engineer

The AWM Architecture & Engineering group serves all aspects of the business, providing premier architecture solutions and services used as the foundation for technology development. We focus on enabling innovation, rapid execution and empowering the engineering teams across AWM. We develop architectural standard methodologies, core services and lead the development and adoption of Hybrid Cloud solutions using cloud native architectures, and platforms.

As a Core Engineer, you will play a critical role in the success of our development modernization and enablement of Cloud transformation efforts across AWM. You will combine your years of experience with a passion for improving all aspects of how we build extraordinary solutions that focus on establishing standards and guidelines, delivery enablement for our engineers and continuous improvement across the organization.

  • Your ability to define, communicate and implement solutions that mature the engineering eco-system

  • Detailed reviews of technology programs and assess their alignment with strategic architecture and business aims, engineering practices, and efficient working practices.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in the development of scalable enterprise applications using J2EE and Micro Services.

  • Authoritative knowledge with Enterprise Java development. Spark, NoSQL data platforms (e.g., Cassandra and HBase), In-Memory Databases (e.g., Redis and Gemfire), messaging (Kafka), stream processing (e.g., NiFi, Storm, Spark Streaming, etc.) and Spring Framework / Springboot.

  • Experience leading and mentoring Agile teams with a substantial commitment to DevOps practices.

  • Ability to build software solutions on private cloud and public cloud providers.

  • Experience building and tuning CI/CD pipelines built using Gradle, Maven or SBT.

  • Strong scripting skills that enable you to quickly analyze data and orchestrate tools and processes
