Role Overview

Schroders Portfolio Accounting department is responsible for the control and monitoring of accounting data integrity. Aligned to Distribution divisions of Schroders, the Portfolio Accounting and Reporting team are responsible for the production and delivery of periodic and ad-hoc operational client reports such as client valuations and any additional client reporting requirements. The department has critical dependencies on all other Portfolio Services functions for timely, accurate and complete information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for allocated portfolios, proactive investigation and follow up of queries arising from Client Service Teams, other Portfolio Services teams and the wider business.

  • Produce and verify periodic and ad hoc reports of client investment positions and transactions in accordance with agreed format, data content and scheduling requirements.

  • Working directly with counterparts across Client Support and Performance, input to, agree and manage schedules for production of client reporting.

  • Ensure timely resolution of production issues in accordance with deadlines.

  • Provide information from internal accounting records as requested and ensure timely resolution of queries arising from Portfolio Accounting and Reporting activities.

  • Investigate, report on and escalate to management unresolved discrepancies falling outside agreed tolerances or service standards.

  • Work through high volumes, prioritise and manage work loads according to risk or deadlines.

  • Oversee account transitions to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained for new/lost clients and any new/changing reporting requirements are addressed

  • Client and NAV Reconciliations.

  • Cash Processing - TBC

Desirable Skills

  • Minimum 3 A-levels, equivalent relevant work experience and/or relevant qualifications such as IOC, IMC.

  • Understanding of operational risk and controls

  • Previous experience in investment accounting or client reporting preferred

  • Knowledge of internal accounting and external counterparty systems

  • Strong and proven investigations skills (liaising with internal & external parties)

  • Experience in the Asset Management industry preferred

  • Knowledge of fixed income, equity and derivative products desirable
