Technician – Metrology (Electrical Calibration)
Would you like to expand your technical expertise into different types of calibrations? We currently have a vacancy for a Technician – Metrology (Electrical Calibration) at our site in Barrow in Furness.
As a Technician – Metrology (Electrical Calibration), you will calibrate and repair test and measurement equipment and support 50,000 pieces of equipment across the site; ranging from traditional analogue equipment through to state of the art test systems. This is a hands-on technical role that will help you to learn and be exposed to a range of equipment.
This role will provide you with a strong Engineering Foundation enabling you to develop into other roles Calibration, Test and Measurement and Electrical Engineering.
Appropriate training will be made available to the successful applicants.
Your main responsibilities as a Technician – Metrology (Electrical Calibration) will involve:
To carry out routine calibrations and repairs of electrical test and measurement equipment, with limited supervision against set procedures and associated technical investigations with specialist support.
Be able to follow procedures for quality, health & safety and business processes.
Keep full and accurate records of work activities carried out by using company systems.
Support the development and maintenance of procedures, systems and processes to the required standard.
Use company systems software as appropriate.
Your skills and qualifications:
Have an awareness of electrical measurement systems and principles.
Relevant experience or a suitable qualification (STEM Degree, HNC, L3 NVQ).
Knowledge and experience of electrical measurement methods and techniques is not mandatory, but is preferable.
Experience with electrical test and measurement equipment is a definite advantage.
