Technician – Metrology (Mechanical)

Would you like to expand your technicalexpertise into different types of calibrations? We currently have a vacancy fora Technician – Metrology (Mechanical) atour site in Barrow in Furness.

As a Technician – Metrology (Mechanical), youwill calibrate and repair test and measurement equipment and support 50,000pieces of equipment across the site; ranging from traditional analogueequipment through to state of the art test systems. This is a hands-ontechnical role that will help you to learn and be exposed to a range ofequipment.

This role will provide you with a strongEngineering Foundation enabling you to develop into other roles Calibration,Test and Measurement and Mechanical Engineering.

Appropriate training will be made available tothe successful applicants.

**Your main responsibilities as a**Technician – Metrology(Mechanical)

will involve:

To carry out routine calibrations and repairsof mechanical test and measurement equipment, with limited supervision againstset procedures and associated technical investigations with specialist support.

Be able to follow procedures for quality,health & safety and business processes.

Communicate with technical customers on a rangeof calibration topics.

Keep full and accurate records of workactivities carried out by using company systems.

Support the development and maintenance ofprocedures, systems and processes to the required standard.

Use company systems software as appropriate.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essentials:

Have an awareness of mechanical measurementsystems and principles.

Relevant experience or a suitable qualification(STEM Degree, HNC, L3 NVQ).

Desirables:

Knowledge and experience of mechanicalmeasurement methods and techniques is not mandatory, but is preferable.

Experience in mechanical fitting and hand toolsskills is a definite advantage.
