The Role….

The Recruitment Advisor will play a pivotal role driving direct recruitment within teams. Working closely with hiring managers at all levels, you will develop and maintain strong relationships to enable you to best advise and influence hiring decisions and outcomes for the business. The Recruitment Advisor will exhaust and utilize all available recruitment tools to directly source and find the right talent for team, always ensuring the business objectives are front of mind.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Complete ownership of the recruitment hiring process (20-25 roles)
  • Ownership of the fortnightly recruitment approvals meeting, producing the necessary materials and data so that senior management can make informed approval decisions
  • Drive direct recruitment from a variety of sources (LinkedIn, Company website, Indeed etc.) across the business, improving hiring effectiveness, reduce cost and time to hire
  • Support managers to improve recruitment, interview and hiring skills
  • Ensure a clear understanding of the recruitment lifecycle across hiring manager community and support managers to improve their recruitment skills and awareness i.e. aim for hiring best practice, guide on recruitment strategy, stages of hiring, direct hiring and selection techniques

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own the recruitment hiring process and delivery all transactional recruitment activities (average active portfolio of 20 diverse roles) in the business and their status; advise and partner the business on all operational hiring
  • Own the monthly recruitment approval process, producing the necessary materials and data so that senior management can make informed approval decisions
  • Track and monitor the status of all live recruitment requirements so that the business can be briefed on the status of recruitment and any point in time
  • Monitor all recruitment metrics and keep data up to date and in a reportable format i.e. spend and KPI dashboard to reflect all recruitment activity
  • Develop a suite of tools for use by the business and hiring managers that will attract and retain the right people through effective resourcing, onboarding and candidate engagement activities
  • Effectively source 3rdparty recruitment resources when needed so that they meet the needs of the business and offer optimum value for money
  • Build deep and lasting relationships with external suppliers and 3rdparty recruitment providers
  • Own and regularly review the recruitment preferred supplier list (PSL) to ensure compliance and suppliers are managed and engaged appropriately
  • Collaborate and, where necessary, influence the business to make the right hiring decisions so that individual, team and business performance is accelerated
  • Work with Towers Watson surveys to inform and consult with the business on job evaluation and benchmarking for roles where required. Keep up to date with any changes at TW and how the methodology may impact the benchmarking activities of Exterion Media
  • Deliver any team and individual benchmarking where required to support change programmes, restructures and individual hiring activity
  • Maintain an active interest in all prospective learning interventions that might be useful to the business and make them known to HR Managers/HRD as appropriate
  • Maintain a strong commercial outlook coupled with a pragmatic approach to sourcing and delivering all recruitment activities into the business
  • Thorough knowledge of all parts of the UK business structure (including Group). Have a strong understanding of what industry we operate in and how our structures support the overall business goals.
  • Work with and guide the HR Administrator when support is required for recruitment activities

Key Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in as a Recruitment Advisor or internal recruitment position
  • Experience in a highly fluid commercial environment
  • Degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Previous success in volume recruitment
  • An engaging, proactive collaborative approach enabling valuable relationships to be built at all levels of the organisation and across functions
  • Strong organisational and process management skills to deliver both projects and daily work
  • Proactive clear, concise and confident communication style (verbal and written) that adapts to suit the audience
  • Knows how to influence and is assertive when required
  • Focus on high quality and accurate work that balances with timely delivery
  • Thrives on challenges and delivering in a fluid and evolving environment
  • Applies innovative thinking and possesses the courage to challenge where necessary.
  • Aware of the need for appropriate levels of confidentiality – also displays tact and discretion and ensures that these levels are maintained at all times
  • Delivers great consultancy style support to client base – questions and listens actively to understand what is important to them so the most effective solutions may be applied


  • Previous run portfolios of up to 25 active roles at any one time
  • Intermediate data analytics and comfortable with managing large quantities of data
  • Good supplier management and builds rapport easily
  • Basic knowledge of generalist HR skills and practices


  • Previously worked in a very busy environment with continuous change (agency background is preferred)
  • Worked and recruited into sales oriented businesses


  • Degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline
