Project Manager

Would you like to play a key role in deliveringprojects for one of the UK’s Leading Defence Companies? We currently have avacancy for a Project Manager at our site in Christchurch.

Asa Project Manager you will be responsible for managing projects and/or packagesof work based within our organisation. You will work collaboratively with bothour customers and other BAE Systems team members. The role will includeadopting governance and process as well as identifying and implementing areasfor continual improvement.

This role will provide you with the opportunityto manage a range of tasks of varying, values, durations and technologies. Itwill also give you the chance to work across multiple technology domains withinthe wider BAE Systems Business. This role may also offer the support to achieveprofessional qualification and accreditation

Your main responsibilities as a Project Managerwill involve:

Identify and monitorproject risks (threats and opportunities) planning and implementing responsesto them and responding to other issues that affect products

Manage theconsolidation and documenting of the fundamental components of the project(scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, risks, opportunities, issuesand quality requirements)

Identifying,defining, evaluating, planning, tracking and realising the business benefits ofthe project

Managing, monitoringand controlling financial aspects of the project

Establishing andmaintaining governance arrangements for the delivery of the project, definingclear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities that align with organisationpractice

Developing andmanaging teams, identifying, addressing and resolving differences betweenindividuals and/or interest groups

Agreeing contractsfor the provision of goods/services needed for the project monitoringcompliance and managing variances

Identifyingcapability gaps and recommend changes or enhancements in line with continuousimprovement methodology.

Using strong criticalthinking and analytical skills to solve problems and propose new ideas

Your skills and qualifications:


Good communications skills and ability to buildrelationships with a diverse spectrum of individuals (customer, suppliers etc.)

Experience working in close collaboration withone or more customers

Adaptability and flexibility in order to reactand positively respond to change

Knowledge of project management techniques andrecent experience in leading delivery projects

Knowledge of a recognised project management methodology such as PRINCE2/APMP/MSP


Managing delivery of hardware and/or softwaresystems. End to end delivery of complex integrated systems.

Ability to identify risks associated withbusiness processes, operations, information security programs and technologyprojects.

Have proven experience of working within or inclose collaboration with the UK MoD as a Project Manager

Have a reasonable understanding from atechnical perspective of military deployed CIS and associated CISInfrastructure

Project Management Qualification (e.g. APM)

Location: Christchurch

Salary: £46,000 +Dependent on experience
