BAE Systems Air is also theOEM for the 146/RJ, ATP, Jetstream 41, Jetstream 31 and HS748 aircraft types,providing technical support, modifications and supply chain solutions to anextensive range of commercial airline operators who operate these aircrafttypes.
As an Aerodynamicist, youwill be involved in Exciting programmes supporting new aircraft design andcertification, future technology development and aircraft mid-lifeupgrades. Working as an integral part ofthe team delivering information superiority and effective air power, our aim isto provide our customers with the capabilities and intelligence that reallymatters
This role will provide you with interactions with airworthinessspecialists, airframe and systems designers, structures, materials andmanufacturing engineers. Aerodynamicistswill typically develop their skills and experience in the core discipline,enabling progression within their grade. In addition, Aerodynamicists areexpected to progressively take on responsibility for managing tasks, initiallyfor their own work, then for a small team, leading eventually to be the leadengineer on progressively larger Projects.
Your main responsibilitiesas a Aerodynamicist will involve:
Carrying out aerodynamicsengineering tasks within your span of control, performing tasks to cost and ontime to meet requirements and business needs.
Ensuring the technicalcontent of the work, including deliverables, is acceptable to your operationalengineering manager and functional manager utilising the most efficientengineering methods available.
Confirming all work iscompatible with the departmental quality policy and that departmentalprocedures are followed. Agreeing your work plan with your operational engineeringmanager and deploying aerodynamics engineering methods, processes and data foractivities within your span of control.
Ensuring effectiveinteractions with customers, colleagues and others, to promote the bestinterests of the team, department and company.
Providing efficiency andeffectiveness suggestions for the development of structural engineeringtoolsets and processes within the Aerodynamics Engineering discipline
Your skills andqualifications:
An engineering relateddegree
Relevant experience workingin an aerospace environment
Experience in applyingaerodynamics analysis methods, tools and techniques in a an area of Air Vehicledesign, development or test and evaluation.

Salary: £29,300+ dependant on experience
