Senior Project Manager

Would you like to play a key role in assisting the MOD as they transition their way of working? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Project Manager at our customer’s site in Corsham.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading multiple projects and packages of work based within our customer organisation and expected to work collaboratively with both our customer and a multi-supplier eco-system, including other BAE Systems team members. The role will include adopting customer governance and process as well as identifying and implementing areas for continual improvement.

This role is an opportunity to embed within a high-profile MOD programme, working directly alongside the customer to deliver their programme and vision. The customer is changing how they deliver capability to its users and this is one of the first programmes that is adopting an MOD as Prime System Integrator model.

It is also an excellent opportunity to apply experience and learning in an environment that is still maturing and evolving. This role offers the potential for growth within the business leading to further opportunities with increased responsibility.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Project Manager will involve:

Lead a team of Project Managers to prepare and maintain schedules of activities and events, taking account of dependencies and resource requirements in a multi-supplier team

Co-ordinate project risks (threats and opportunities), planning and implementing responses to them across multiple projects.

Ensure consistency across fundamental components of the multiple projects (scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, risks, opportunities, issues and quality requirements)

Identifying, defining, evaluating, planning, tracking and realising the business benefits of the projects

Establish and assure governance arrangements for the delivery of the projects, defining clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities that align with organisation practice

Develop and manage project managers, identifying, addressing and resolving differences between individuals and/or interest groups

Make use of communication skills to handle diverse audiences in a multi-supplier environment

Your skills and qualifications:

Exceptional communications skills and ability to build relationships with a diverse spectrum of individuals (customer, suppliers etc.)

Experience working in close collaboration with one or more customers

Adaptability and flexibility in order to react and positively respond to change

Knowledge of project management techniques and recent experience in leading multiple delivery projects and teams

Managing IS/IT Project Delivery, preferably for the UK Military.


Delivering secure solutions based on Microsoft Windows and additional Microsoft based technologies such as Exchange, Skype, SQL and Group Policy.

Ability to identify risks associated with business processes, operations, information security programs and technology projects.

Have proven experience of working within or in close collaboration with the UK MoD as a Project Manager

Have a reasonable understanding from a technical perspective of military deployed CIS and associated CIS Infrastructure

Knowledge of delivering Agile Delivery projects.

A recognised project management methodology such as PRINCE2/APMP/MSP

You will also have the ability to work autonomously with ambiguous requirements.

Location: Corsham

Salary: £43,700 + dependant on experience
