Instrumentation Trials Engineer
Would you like to gain specialist experience?We currently have a vacancy for an InstrumentationTrials Engineer at our site in Ridsdale.
As an InstrumentationTrials Engineer, you will be responsible for: ensuring theinstrumentation used for data capture at Ridsdale range is fit for purpose;ensuring the instrumentation is repaired and calibrated where required and,proactively developing new techniques for data capture in line with developingtechnologies.
This role will provide you with training inradiation protection, innovation and developing new techniques.
Your main responsibilities as an InstrumentationTrials Engineer will involve:
Working as part of a small trials team carryingout tests and trials on all types of munitions
Setting up and operation of instrumentationincluding high speed photography on tests and trials conducted at RidsdaleRange
Ensuring the instrumentation used at Ridsdaleis maintained to a high standard, and stored in suitable areas
Ensuring documentation is maintained for theinstrumentation in Teamcenter
Developing new and existing techniques for datacapture.
Fault finding to component level usingappropriate circuit diagrams and test equipment when a failure is identified.
PAT testing of portable appliances and repairsto cabling required for instrumentation
Completing Personal Development Reviews fordirect reports in line with company policy and schedules
Ensuring compliance with the requirements ofSHE legislation and Business safe systems of work for self and others.
Training of staff in the operation of keyinstrumentation techniques
Acting as Radiation Protection Supervisor forRidsdale range
Production and Authorisation of range safetydocumentation including Standard Operating Procedures
Your skills and qualifications as an InstrumentationTrials Engineer:
The role requires electrical / electronicknowledge for repairs to equipment, knowledge of data capture techniques andknowledge of photographic techniques.
The role requires technical experience andcompetencies relevant to test & evaluation. The role holder is required to:
Have a recognised Electrical / Electronicqualification at HNC level or equivalent
Demonstrate theoretical and practical expertisein a number of test areas in order to act as the subject matter expert withintest and evaluation
Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams

Salary: £33 000+
