Supply Chain Lead
Would you like to work within a thriving andgrowing Supply Chain department? If so we are recruiting for a Supply ChainLead to be based in our Portsmouth Naval Base, the home of the Royal Navy.
The successful candidate will provideday-to-day support to Supply Chain activities (Procurement, Logistics orPlanning) within projects or business functions. The role requires a basicknowledge and understanding of Supply Chain principles and practices.
Your main responsibilities willinvolve:
Providing day-to-day support to sourcing andprocurement activities, either through the management of day-to-day routineprocurement activities, or by supporting strategic procurement initiatives orprojects
Provide Logistics administrative andfunctional support to the Supply Chain function to ensure timely, accurateidentification and delivery of material to support BAE Systems’ or thecustomer’s requirements
Contribute to one or more of inventorystrategy and planning, warehousing/storage, transport and logistics under thedirection of the wider logistics team. This will include understandingobsolescence and key inventory metrics and contributing to the optimisation ofthese, as well as ensuring that SHE policies are consistently applied
Provide basic support to a team of planningprofessionals and/or senior planning professionals in delivering service levelsto the function or project
Your skills and qualifications:
Requires knowledge of basic Supply Chaintechnologies as well as an understanding of the basics of contract law,negotiation, supplier management, MRP systems and any other relevant logisticsor planning systems
IT skills are required to perform the roleeffectively
Stakeholder management experience
CIPS qualified for working towards
