Head of Procurement
Would you like to lead the transformationactivities required for the Procurement function and the procurement activitiesin relation to Offset at a BAE Systems? We currently have a vacancy for a Head of Procurement at our site inBarrow.
As a Headof Procurement, you will be responsible for directing the Weapon SystemsUK Procurement Function and ensure their output meet the capability needs ofthe Programs and Functions and the Weapon Systems UK business strategy.
This role will provide you with the opportunityto engage and influence at Weapon Systems UK level interacting with Leadershipteam members and Weapon Systems/P&S US leadership team members,representing the procurement function at UK Procurement DirectorsForum/Procurement Global Procurement Council level.
Your main responsibilities as a Head ofProcurement will involve:
Effectively managing resources to discharge allprocurement requirements through the full lifecycle of the WSUK business,whilst ensuring that SHE remains central to the task.
Engaging as part of the WSUK Leadership Team toalign objectives with overarching business strategies and deliver agendas asdefined by the IPT leads
Managing the deployment of Business ManagementProcesses, in a manner that engages and involves all of the Procurement teamand where applicable, support functions.
Ensuring people are trained, competent andempowered to meet the business objectives
Providing an excellent customer experience,through Supplier performance and embedding a culture of continuous Value Chainimprovement
Promoting a one-team approach across WSUK,Barrow-in-Furness
Creating an environment that is oriented towardtrust, open communication and creative thinking
Championing SHE performance within the WSUKSupply Chain
Financial budget responsibility
Your skills and qualifications as a Head ofProcurement:
Considerable Procurement and Supply ChainManagement experience at various organisational levels
Knowledge of defence industry procurement, inparticular in a low volume, high value manufacturing setting
Management responsibility of a team (desirablewould be that this is over a number of locations)
A proven track record of enhancing the ValueChain
Highly developed influencing skills forinterfacing with senior level stakeholders both inside and outside of BAESystems

You should have a very high level of complexityfinding solutions to problems with conflicting views of different functions andprograms with conflicting priorities.You must be highly experienced and capable at building relationships andbuilding networks, with experience of leading diversely located teams, bothdirect and virtual, including service providers.
