Project Leader (Production EngineeringDepartment)

Would you like tolead a team of Engineers and oversee Production Engineering Design activities?We currently have a vacancy for a Project Leader at our site in Barrow. Thereare very few projects nationally that design and produce engineering outputs tothe scale required of Production Engineering Department (PED).

PED is currentlyexpanding; this is a specialist Engineering team containing designers andEngineers who collaborate to support specialist build processes and techniqueswithin Submarines including Build Strategy, Engineering Design, and support ofManufacture and Operational activities.

As a Project Leaderyou will be a key member of the PED working in a multidisciplinary team ofDesigners, Engineers and Designer Engineering Managers as well as working withinternal customers including the jig design, transport and heavy lifting teamsto complete manufacturing tasks safely and on time.

Your main responsibilities as a Project Leaderwill involve:

Responsibility foroverseeing the design output deliverables for a team of designers

Fit for purposereview of designs and drawings in readiness for technical assessment

First line managementresponsibilities; organisation, resource planning & monitoring the teamagainst key deliverable dates.

Represent the PED inEngineering Design Reviews & supporting regular jig design reviews.

To provide technicaldrawing & drafting advice and guidance to the team and undertake activitiesto support team deliverables.

Your skills and qualifications:

Qualified Designer toHNC level of equivalent experience

A depth of experiencein maritime manufacturing procedures

A depth of experiencein design of jigs and lifting equipment

Demonstrableexperience of working with a large engineering organisation and interfacingwith the supply chain and internal customers

Proven linemanagement experience
