Principal Engineer - SIF Process & Governance
Would you like to like to play a key role within our Shore Integration Facility to test software from various suppliers; The team is responsible for configuration and control; virtual environment to test systems and integrate them together. We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Engineer at our site in Barrow.
As a Principal Engineer, you will join a community of 15 in the SIF team which is made up of technical, supply chain and projects professionals' wider integration test facility. Interface primarily with the design team and there may be a requirement to interface with Supply and Projects in support of the Project Leader.
This role will provide you with actually seeing the product, interacting with the systems – hands on ability to review the system before any other and could lead to Principal Engineer / Project Leader.
Your main responsibilities as a Principal Engineer will involve:
Independent assurance body that reports on technical compliance; through testing methods on both the facility and the system.
Produce test reports and observation reports for design teams to ensure standards are met.
Identify risks against plan by reporting non-compliance of systems to the Project Leader.
Define/ Develop and support the configuration management within the SIF
Define/ Develop and support Information Assurance, Information Security/ IT support within the SIF
Your skills and qualifications as a Principal Engineer:
Demonstrable experience of process' in Quality Management Systems.
Demonstrable process engineering: compliance against audits.
Charterships or demonstrable experience in working towards.
Communicate with all levels, customer and regulators
Ability eliciting requirement from other areas; connect with teams and communicate with wider BAE Systems to share best practice.
