The team at Expedia Group are looking for a Cloud-minded TPM who is enthusiastic, highly motivated and focused, to join their awesome Expedia Partner Solutions Cloud Platform team.

At EPS, we have a mix of projects that can come from either within Technology or from our partner-facing Product organisation. You will work within Technology and report to a Development Director, but the role is key to delivering both kinds of project.

The Technical Product Manager equips the development teams with stories and requirements to drive consistent and high-quality delivery of technical initiatives.

You will analyze complex problems and provide technical solution specifications, relying on a firm grasp of the underlying architectural design.

Working within inter-disciplinary development teams, you will be involved in the delivery of projects from conception on through the whole development process, oversee their acceptance criteria and testing, and then evaluate their success through metrics you design.

Our teams work in a highly parallelised road map - we need to maintain effective coordination between them, and this role is a vital interface.

What you will do:

As a TPM in this team, you will collaborate with our experienced software engineers and other TPMs who represent our consumers to drive improvements to our cloud platform, design and develop new cloud services and software solutions, and build and track metrics to ensure high quality results. You will have the chance to work with Tech leadership, software engineers, managers and other like minded technical specialists. You should be able to influence and drive product vision by providing context to our team so they can design the world class systems we aspire to build.   • Evaluates requirements, and work closely within the technology team to translate into highly detailed technical epics and specifications
  • Drives the technology capabilities and integrations for new and existing systems
  • Ensures functional needs are met while supporting scalability, reliability, and performance of the system
  • Identifies and handles risks
  • Evaluates and effectively addresses design trade-offs and collaborates on decision-making
  • Conducts analysis across multiple technology systems and teams within Expedia
  • Plans for solutions and projects that support effective, efficient execution with incremental deliveries
  • Establishes success metrics post launch and applies lessons to future work
  • Aligns with business partners to balance business and technical objectives and manifests these as clear, stable priorities for the team
  • Oversees UAT and sets requirements for acceptance test quality

Who you are:

This is a technical role, so you will need to develop a broad as well as deep understanding of this complicated domain. A background in development or technical product ownership is very helpful; exposure to project management methods is also a bonus. During development and integration we all get our hands dirty, and success could require problem-solving in live environments.

  • Ability to identify, track, and monitor technical dependencies across systems
  • Experience with high volume systems and high scalability
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
  • The ability to creatively pursue meaningful business/technology problems
  • Familiarity with web-based product development including software development processes, n-tiered architectures, service oriented architectures, data organization, and performance optimization.
  • A bachelor's degree in technical field or related discipline such as information science or computer science preferred
  • Experience with SQL, Hadoop, and cloud based data technologies a bonus
  • Coding experience (even better, in Java or Python) would also be a plus, though it's not part of the job
