Solutions Architect – Assured Systems

This is a technical role requiring expertise in the design, development and delivery of Assured Information Systems using the latest technologies. As a technical leader you will be instrumental in overseeing the technology roadmaps and designs required to not only sustain an existing portfolio of IT cyber products, systems and services but to innovate and develop new products of the future.

As a Solutions Architect you will work closely with the Programme Manager and Programme Engineering Manager to successfully deliver our customer commitments. You must have the technical ability, aptitude and confidence in this strong customer facing role, with the ability to take full ownership of requirements, architectures, technology & product choices, in conjunction with product safety, security and certification.

Your main responsibilities as a Solutions Architect – Assured Systems:

Analyse, define, evaluate, plan and deliver solutions to meet programme, business and customer requirements

Apply engineering expertise to complex engineering product, system and process development or problem resolution

Ability to build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and other functions at a senior level and influence their thinking

Maintain a good understanding of competitors and suppliers products and services

Thorough knowledge of latest technologies and how they can be applied to complex problems

Lead and inspire engineers to continually raise the bar and push technology boundaries

Facilitate the evolution of innovation ideas, prototyping, development, productionising, delivery, support and decommissioning

Support wider business vision and strategy and achieve business level objectives

Your skills and qualifications:


Competence in:

Use of NCSC secure design principles in the design of system and security architectures

Strong knowledge and understanding of IT and how it can address customer requirements

Design, development and delivery of Plans, Processes, Products, Systems and Services

Assessing and selecting appropriate technologies in areas such as operating systems, virtualisation and security


Understanding of:

MoD or Industry IT projects and programmes

Information Assurance (IA) and cyber security

Security architectures, COTS integration and virtualisation

Enterprise level designs and cloud based solutions

Current and emerging technologies and roadmaps

What we're looking for in you:

Ability to demonstrate leadership behaviours

Recent experience of technical design oversight of complex systems and services

Ability to balance seemingly opposed views: big picture and detail; strategic and tactical; methodical and creative

Technical management and leadership of products and product families

Flexibility to travel within UK and abroad

Professional registration, chartered status or willingness to obtain

Ideally you will have a strong engineering background with experience in the IT industry with the ability to attain Security Clearance (SC without caveat).
