Dow has a very interesting and challenging job opportunity for Maintenance Technician Apprentice in our department in Dewsbury, United Kingdom.

Position & requirements: We are looking for outstanding personalities with ability, drive, aspiration and a keen interest in an Electrically Biased apprenticeship program, working between our Dewsbury site and our Partnering College.

We offer you the opportunity to make a difference within our company and will support you along the way, to help you to unlock your full career potential As part of a team to support a chemical manufacturing process, Maintenance Technicians build, test and install equipment and systems to process chemical substances into industrial or consumer products. They respond to issues identified by Process Operators and work with Engineers to fix problems. We will teach you to understand environmental regulations and requirements as well as train in the latest advanced process and control technologies. Technicians learn about a variety of equipment types and use their knowledge to develop ideas to improve them.

On our 4 year Apprenticeship program, you'll get to study towards an NVQ Level 3 Diploma and work alongside fully qualified Maintenance Technicians and Engineers, all while making a real contribution to an advanced chemical processing business. The Engineering Framework provides work-based training for you to undertake key technical, operational and maintenance roles in Chemical related process industries. It's a great way to earn, learn and grow in confidence as member of an encouraging team. It provides you with the perfect platform to go on to even bigger trials

Your Dow Journey:

The program will see you undertake foundation training at our Partnering College in your first year*. This will broaden your appreciation for the engineering field. You'll undertake internal job-specific training courses over the remaining three years as well as studying for your qualification on day-release. All of this will provide you practical knowledge in areas such as trouble shooting, introducing new equipment and continuous improvement. You are a committed, keen and supportive person willing to learn in a structured environment whilst being responsible and eager to complete the portfolio of evidence and course work required. We will give you the chance to learn from engineers, customers, suppliers and specialists in every part of Dow around the globe, so you'll enjoy plenty of exposure. As you gain the experience you will become a vital part of our future. There may be requirement for secondment to other Dow facilities in EMEAI to meet specific training requirements travel and expenses will be paid. You will also have the possibility to secure full-time employment following successful completion of the apprenticeship. An entry level Technician role has a starting salary of £29K per annum plus benefits.
