Would you like to join a vibrant and expanding Design Services organisation as a member of the engineering management team who will be the link between business development and the delivery of a portfolio of design tasking. We currently have an exciting vacancy to be our Engineering Lead (Bid Technical Support) at our site in Portsmouth Naval Base.As a newly created role, this is a unique opportunity to use your technical expertise to support our business development activities; once the work is mobilised, you will oversee the engineering tasks from cradle to grave while acting as the customer interface for this work.Capability change and engineering management experience are essential with previous experience of MOD customers and process desirable. Owing to the involvement in multiple aspects of Warship Support engineering this could be a fantastic springboard into the Maritime Services Executive Engineering Community.

Your main responsibilities as a Engineering Lead (Bid Technical Support) will involve:

Manage a medium sized portfolio of engineering design related tasksProvide technical expertise to support the BD team in identifying and winning business opportunities for Design Services related workLead on the estimation of bids including the assessment of engineering requirements, development of assumptions, exclusions, dependencies, risks and opportunities for tender responsesFacilitate and, Chair Progress and Design ReviewsAct as the main point of contact for customersMaintain an up to date deep understanding of the Warship Support processes

Your skills and qualifications as a Engineering Lead (Bid Technical Support):

Essential:

Possesses an understanding and knowledge of Design Change Management processes (preferably MOD)

Ability to manage technical requirements, assumptions, risks and opportunities

Good understanding of a Design Review process

Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent level and working towards CEng Status

Desirable:

Understanding of Warship Capabilities

Understanding of engineering lifecycle management processes

Understanding of product safety and application.
