Project Leader - Product Safety (Safety Management Services)
Would you like to manage a team of Professional Engineersevaluating and managing Hazard Data Management System, Safety Requirements andthe wider programme Safety Management Arrangements.
We currently have avacancy for a Project Leader - Product Safety (Safety ManagementServices) at our site in Barrow.
As a Project Leader - Product Safety (SafetyManagement Services) you will deliver complex engineering and/or crossfunctional tasks or programmes of work within the delegated parameters,recognising stakeholder and customer requirements.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to managea small team of engineers, working across a large stakeholder group.
**Yourmain responsibilities as a**Project Leader - Product Safety (SafetyManagement Services) willinvolve:
Tolead and manage a small team of Stage 1 Engineers and/or perform duties of aresponsible nature, co-ordinating input of information to that team from allengineering areas as required.
Responsible for scheduling,planning, budgets, performance, task management, delegation, activity deliveryand team working for a specific team.
Responsiblefor the configuration control stages and detail gate reviews across areas ofresponsibility.
Tocomplete company assessment processes for individuals under their control whichcan be used for development of an individual, individual performance assessmentand other assessment processes which are determined to be part of the companydirective. Also to ensure that appropriate empowered individuals are consultedas part of these reviews.
Tobe responsible for ensuring that the design deliverables that the team isresponsible for have undergone due process and governance (at the correctlevel) prior to being formally released, ensuring rework is kept to a minimum.
Chairingmeetings and reviews as required with agreed Engineering Plan activities. To be responsible for ensuringdesign reports and other relevant deliverables are distributed to theappropriate departments. To ensure control of documentationand changes through effective use of technology
Tobe able to access, have a clear understanding of and apply the Quality andHS&E Management System documentation e.g. Process Instructions, WorkmanshipStandards, Risk Assessments etc. applicable to your particular work scope andto obey all HS&E rules and control measures.
Toundertake peer reviews or checking / verification tasks as directed. To provide realistic programmestatus, identify problem areas and implement agreed recovery plans. To contribute to identification andrapid closure of issues emerging from all product lifecycle stages and to managethe resulting change embodiment activities.
Toliaise with both internal and external customers as required ensuring thattheir requirements are adequately supported and that their needs are fullyconsidered and incorporated where appropriate and agreed.
Yourskills and qualifications:
Honours Degree or equivalent experience in theappropriate discipline
A general understanding of the manufacturing, assembly,commissioning and testing processes used within the business.
Knowledge or at least recognition of relevant engineeringstandards (including safety and environmental regulations).
Working knowledge of Safety Management System desirable
