PrincipalProject Engineer

Would youlike to have unique collaborative experience working closely with internal andexternal stakeholders within BAE Submarines business? We currently have anumber of vacancies for Principal Project Engineers at our site in Barrow inFurness.

As a Principal Project Engineer, you will carryout a full range of activities in support of project management, givenresponsibility for aspects of a project and facilitating the effective deliveryof projects/programmes.

This rolewill provide you with an opportunity to be part of a new and expanding team,and have the ability to get involved with a number of different aspects of theproject.

Your mainresponsibilities as a Principal Project Engineer will involve:

Support bid and tenderingprocesses, gathering and compiling data

Contribute to the developmentof project definitions. Support the development of project plans

Prepare analyses and collatedata (including determining the availability of resources) to support theeffective development of more detailed plans

Gather data, update projectplans and generate project progress reports on behalf of the project manager

Monitor, within definedframeworks and in assigned areas, activities carried out on projects/programmesto support their effective delivery

Maintain projectdocumentation. Identify and expedite actions to respond to issues anddeviations from the contract

Support the resolution ofproblems and issues to facilitate development of timely and effective solutions

Deputising for the ProjectLeader as required

Assist Control AccountManagers in the Project Planning and Control Processes

Identify and expedite actionsto respond to issues and deviations from project plans

Develop and maintainrelationships with stakeholders to meet their requirements, and lead in swiftresolution of major issues

Support the Risk &opportunity Management processes

Yourskills and qualifications:

APM PMqualification or equivalent

Experienceof Financial Management and general CAM support

Experienceworking with Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Project

Awillingness to take on leadership responsibilities within the team
