Project Leader

Would youenjoy a role where you have the responsibility for managing day to day aspectsfor one or more projects of National importance? We currently have a number of vacanciesfor Project Leaders at our site in Barrow in Furness.

As a Project Leader, you will report to therelevant Senior Project Manager and be responsible for defining,planning, managing and delivering assigned projects to meet customer andbusiness requirements. There may also be people management responsibilities oneither a permanent or temporary basis.

This rolewill provide you with an opportunity to be part of a new and expanding team,and have the ability to get involved with a number of different aspects of theproject. You will be highly visible therefore have the potential to grow andshape your future.

Your mainresponsibilities as a Project Leader will involve:

Ensure that allaspects of the projects are fully defined to ensure customer requirements areachieved in accordance with all business and commercial criteria

Develop andmaintain coherent, fully integrated and workable project plans andbudgets. Develop resource plans and liaise with all stakeholder functions

Lead, control andmonitor projects so that they are delivered to agreed time, cost and qualityrequirements, regularly reviewing and reporting on progress against plan andwhere necessary, intervening to resolve issues which threaten delivery to plan

Lead and manageproduction of various progress reports i.e. contract status, risk, MoDvisibility reports etc. using appropriate tools such as EVM

Interpret,analyse data and present resolutions across the business working closely withthe Project to work through issue to resolve

Develop, maintainand manage key relationships with sub-contractors, customers and otherstakeholders to ensure all deliverables are achieved and that issues areeffectively addressed, and to facilitate effective and profitable businessdevelopment

Support bid andtendering processes to ensure bids meet customer needs, in line with business& commercial criteria that all risks are assessed effectively, and thatbids are realistic and winnable

Develop accurateestimates in support of bids, annual budgets or cost to completion, and analyse'spend to date' data

Lead amulti-disciplined team consisting of engineering, commercial, projectmanagement etc, to ensure that both the customers and business requirements aremet, whilst ensuring that all management/ commercial aspects are welldocumented

Lead and managethe development, agreement and resolution of project risk, assumptions,dependencies and exclusions

Work to andsupport the Project Risk and Opportunity Management processes

Yourskills and qualifications:

APM PMQualification or equivalent

Ability to work in a matrix organisation with goodteaming skills

Data analysis, competent user of Excel and clearpresentation skills

Experienceworking with Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Project

Abilityto communicate information and forge trusted relationships across all workinglevels

Awillingness to take on leadership responsibilities within the team

Whatwe're looking for in you: able to demonstrate strong communication skills, with theability to build and maintain relationships. You will need to be able toinfluence multiple stakeholders and interact confidently with seniormanagement. Strong problem-solving skills are key to the success of this role.
