This team is responsible for all activities in producing and finalising the month/quarter/year-end management accounts, whilst ensuring integrity of accounting data. About the role

The Management Account role provides the opportunity for a high level of interaction with partnering Financial Controllers and key Business contacts to deliver high quality accounting support services to the Cement & Lytag Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparation of the monthly and quarterly reporting for area / set of business units specified, in line with month end reporting timelines and ICS compliance.

Key responsibilities include

  • Produce monthly Management Accounts & Reports

  • Review income/operating statements with Operations before close.

  • Reconcile balance sheet using agreed methods. Ensure back up documentation is also

  • complete.

  • Prepare monthly ICS documentation.

  • Interaction with the Financial Controllers and Operational Management as part of the Divisional Accounting business decision/commercial support activities.

  • Provide accounting analysis - including inventory reporting and analysis. Monthly Stock Reconciliations & GL/Inventory variance investigation.

  • Produce rolling forecast (when required).

  • Utilize JD Edwards/SAP, Qlikview Financial Suite and other ERP to gather and analyze data as well as report results, using presentation skills.

  • Engage with the lean continuous process improvement in department.

  • Liaise with other teams within Divisional Accounting along with Senior Management Accountant to ensure best practice and standardisation are being applied and contribute to continuous improvement process of files, processes and best practice.

  • Travel to sites to provide assistance to site managers regarding finance. Offer Business Financial Analytical Support. To also gain knowledge and understanding of the business on an operational level.

What will you bring?

  • A recognized professional accounting designation (ACMA/ACA/ACCA) with Management Accounting experience

  • Be able to demonstrate some experience of delivering process improvement and simplification initiatives

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Be detail orientated and able to evidence effective planning and organizational skills

  • Logical thinker, strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Self-starting ability and possess the initiative and ability to make independent decisions

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and complete work assignments within specified deadlines

  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills and ability to work alongside “strong characters”
