Junior ProjectManager

Would youlike to work in a high technology business involved in design, development andmanufacture of Microwave Materials for a range of aerospace and defencecustomers? We currently have a vacancy for a Junior Project Manager atour site in Towcester.

As a JuniorProject Manager, you will be involved in the preparation of bids and proposalsfor new work, both internal or external, as well as managing the resultantprogrammes to completion. You will work with and support the MicrowaveMaterials Project Manager to ensure effective and appropriate management of allprojects.

You willhave the chance to work across a diverse portfolio of projects for a broadrange of customers and have the opportunity to develop your career in Project Management.Whilst this is seen in part as a development role, the successful candidatewill be expected to learn quickly and manage their own workload in a unique,dynamic and challenging multi-project environment.

This roleprovides an excellent opportunity for someone in the early stages of a ProjectManagement career, as the successful candidate will be required to manage everystage of the project life cycle on projects varying in size, length andcomplexity. The role offers the unique ability to support the overallmanagement of what is effectively an SME operating within the larger BAEconstruct, a structure which offers a number of challenges but alsoopportunities for new ways of working.

Your mainresponsibilities as a Junior Project Manager will involve:

Managingthe customer and internal projects within the Microwave Materials business, toinclude financial management, support to delivery, scheduling, changemanagement, timely and honest reporting and management of risks andopportunities.

Managingthe business winning activity to produce compelling bids and proposals for our internaland external customers.

Supportingthe sales and operations planning process to ensure that resource is balancedamongst the ongoing projects.

Managingthe relationship with key customers and suppliers to ensure requirements andplans are clearly communicated and managed.

Supportthe identification, planning and implementation of changes into the business.

Required skillsand qualifications:

ProjectManagement qualification such as a Project Management degree, APMP or Prince2.

Someexperience of working within a project environment, ideally but not criticallyin the R&D realm (internships/sandwich years would suffice for the rightcandidate).

Experiencein use of MS Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Project.

Experienceworking on government contracts and in the defence industry would be advantageous.

Theability to balance and prioritise multiple requirements at once.

Awillingness to change and develop new ways of thinking and working.

Salary: £27,500+
