Principal Engineer (Product Security)

Would you like to play a pivotal role supporting engineering projects across Royal Navy submarine programmes? We currently have a vacancy for a Security Engineer at our sites in Frimley or Weymouth

As a Security Architect, you will be working within the Product Security (PSec) team undertaking risk assessments and responding to technical queries, formal security testing events, recommending ways ahead and contributing to process and policy documents.

This role will expose you to information assurance and product security across the lifecycle from concept to disposal of item once no longer in service on all Submarine Platforms – Vanguard, Astute and Dreadnought.

Your main responsibilities as a Principal Engineer will involve:

Providing a focal point for resolution of security and information risk matters.

Identifying, analysing and evaluating information risks.

Assisting in explaining to internal stakeholders the causes, likelihood and potential business impacts

of information risks.

Checking compliance with applicable regulations, standards, policies and guidance on information risk management.

Presenting risk management options to the business.

Documenting the material required to inform risk management decisions

Your skills and qualifications as a Principal Engineer:

Previous experience providing security expertise to a project

Appreciation and generalist understanding of Information Assurance or Product Security

Previous experience with systems of systems, or complex IT projects desirable.

Complex Systems and Support:

Complex Systems and Support (CS&S) is part of BAE Systems Submarines. We predominantly supply to the UK MoD but with smaller derivative work done in support of international Customers. Our team is responsible for system design, build and/or procurement of the major electronic and mechanical systems on a submarine, as well as provision of test, integration and support services.
