We are currently looking for several individuals to join our team in the Midlands and East Anglia working on projects for key clients including Anglian Water Services. AWS is the largest geographic water and wastewater company in England and Wales, covering 27,500 square kilometres. The AWS region stretches from the Humber north of Grimsby, to the Thames estuary and then from Buckinghamshire to Lowestoft on the east coast.

A bit about the role

*Advise on matters relating to health and safety, environment and quality at work, including the obligations and responsibilities of managers and employees; and provide comprehensive and practical advice to all managers on best practise

*Be responsible for assessing compliance with , Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) policy and procedures on projects within the programme area

*Ensure HSEQ practices and standards are consistent across each individual project

*Carry out HSEQ training, briefings and mentoring for delivery team and stakeholders within the programme area

*Ensure compliance with client safety rules when we work on their assets.

*Be responsible to provide the health and safety, environmental and quality data to the HSEQ Manager for the programme area when required

*Accident Frequency Rate

*Near Miss analysis

*Minor accidents

*Sustainability in construction

*Carry out site inspections:

*Ensure each construction site is inspected each month

*Maintain a consistent approach to inspections

*Ensure all data is captured

*Provide tactical review of data and improvement proposals

*Support the HSEQ Manager to review the programme area performance each month to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans, and implement. Never walk by an unsafe act or circumstance, ensure the matter is dealt with satisfactorily immediately and reported appropriately

*Ensure that best practise is shared and communicated across projects

*Develop cross project improvement forum

*Use the Near Miss data to suggest improvements that mitigate the issues raised

*Provide appropriate technical expertise to incident investigation teams to establish all causes and improve risk management. Ensure significant incidents (in any programme area) are investigated and reports are completed.

*Keep abreast of forthcoming new or changes to legislation and best practise, ensuring business readiness in advance

Required criteria for the ideal Health & Safety Manager

* Health and Safety Management, Construction or Engineering Degree

* NEBOSH National Diploma

* NEBOSH Construction Certificate

* Member of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health

* Have the ability to embrace the implications of a defined stage gate delivery process - understand its impact on people and process.
