Hardware Systems Engineer

Would you like to work within the design,qualification and implementation of our deliveries at the operational level? Wecurrently have a vacancy for a Hardware Systems Engineer at our site in Christchurch.

As a Hardware Systems Engineer, you will beworking on a range of engineering activities including estimation ofdevelopment activities, design of technical solutions, implementation orsubcontract of proposed solutions and the testing involved in verifying them.

This role will provide you with an opportunityto work on a range of opportunities to work within a variety of programmes,both established and development.

Your main responsibilities as a HardwareSystems Engineer will involve:

Providing Hardware and Systems Engineeringsupport to the business development activities, including study/experimentationactivities, system de-risking activities, interfacing with suppliers andinteraction with prospective customers at a technical level

Development and implementation of technicalsolutions that meet the customer requirements

Provision of realistic estimates for specifiedactivities to the development lead

Accurately report on progress

Complete work to a high standard and to scope,quality and budget

Support System Integration activities

The safe design of the system prior to deliveryand for the preparation of information required by the Design Authority tosupport the Design Certification and Certificate of Design activities

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

A strong Hardware and Systems Engineeringbackground, preferably with a degree in a related discipline

A good understanding of the completeengineering lifecycle and configuration management

A good working knowledge of the developmentprocesses (e.g. requirements, design, specification, implementation,integration and testing, acceptance), and development tools (e.g. Requirements

Management, Modelling and defect reportingsystems)

A background in Communications (voice, data andradio products)

Desirable:

Experience of providing engineering input andsupport to business development activities would be an advantage

Strong team player with an ability to applyinnovation when problem solving. Must be adaptable and keen to learn, whilstbeing flexible to work outside of normal office hours when required.

Location: Christchurch

Salary: £ 42,000
