Lead Hardware Engineer
As a Lead HardwareEngineer you will be part of the technical leadership of a dedicated expertteam responsible for the design lifecycle of our electronic solutions for cutting-edge products such asHelmet Mounted & Head-Up Displays, Mission Computing, Flight Computers,Active Inceptors and other associated safety critical technology.
You will providetechnical leadership and guidance in the development and delivery of digital&/or analogue electronics solutions. Demonstrating an understanding of both product design and work packagecontrol, which will ensure all engineering development lifecycle aspects arecorrectly addressed together with the associated trades made, in doing so.
Your mainresponsibilities as a Lead Hardware Engineer will involve:
Leadingthe delivery of design artefacts in support of company standards
Workingcollaboratively with other disciplines, to optimise solutions and minimiseimpacts from dependencies
Technologyidentification & reuse strategies
Modeldefinition and requirements management
Functionalpartitioning & configuration management
Circuitdesign & schematic capture, as well as design analysis
Verification& Validation including EMC & environmental qualification
Liaisingwith both suppliers and customers
Your skills as a LeadHardware Engineer:
Be arecognised technical leader, capable of providing direction and robustengineering judgement, in all phases of the engineering development lifecycle
Knowledgeand experience of digital &/or analogue electronics technologies, designtools and techniques
Technology identification & reusestrategies; performing cost & performance trades
Managing model definition and requirements
Managing functional partitioning & configuration
Degree/HNDin electronics engineering or an equivalent qualification
Theworking knowledge of the following tools would be advantageous:
MentorGraphics Expedition Enterprise
Analoguesimulations tools, e.g. Simetrix or Spice
Timingdesigner tools, e.g. Chronology
Signalintegrity tools and principles
Systemdevelopment tools, e.g. Enterprise Architect, Matlab, Simulink
Requirementsmanagement tools, e.g. DOORS
