Role Purpose

  • Responsible forproduct management, development and global implementation of cards products,capabilities and benefits. Total consumer lending assets of over $23 Bn delivering$3Bn revenue to the group.
  • This position has thefollowing responsibilities :
  • Credit Cards product& performance management
  • Credit Cards strategydevelopment and consumer lending insights
  • Development of cardpayment functionality
  • Development of cardprograms and benefits (Premier, Advance, Rewards etc)
  • Development ofeffective KPI tracking and reporting for Group and Markets
  • Detailed financialperformance analysis to identify issues and opportunities
  • Scheme management& optimization
  • In addition, the rolewill be required to contribute to the following
  • Strong partnershipswith regional and local market stakeholders
  • Drive regions and countries to implement Globalstrategy and oversee overall performance delivery
  • Work closely with Global cross-functional teamsin Risk, Digital, Finance, Distribution, Marketing and Propositions
  • Drive optimization of our offering

and customer experience in multiple channels

Key Accountabilities

Impacton Business

  • Increase RAR and contribution of the Cards

business

  • Support the delivery of the RBWM Personal

Lending Strategy identifying opportunities on eligibility criteria,

triggers, and credit management

  • Expand Cards product suite, leveraging

best-practices from different markets in the Group and driving

implementation of solutions identified

  • Product

Development

  • Development of products,

propositions, pricing strategies and customer facing capabilities

  • Ongoing review of

existing product suites for alignment with cards product strategy and

segment strategy

  • Define customer experience for new

capabilities in partnership with cross-functional teams

  • Market assessments of new

technologies, competitors & regulations

  • Identification and

remediation of gap closure on key customer experience issues

  • Workingunder pressure, ability to structure and synthesize business issues rapidly, coordinationand influencing a diverse suite of stakeholders, optimal usage of resourcesagainst a complex and ambitious set of business deliverables and objectives

Role Context

  • Therole will sit within the Global Cards team within the Group Retail Banking Productsstructure. Key objectives and governance of the deliverables in this role willbe agreed by the Group Head of Cards in conjunction with the Group Head ofRetail Banking Products
  • Therole holder will be expected to operate largely independently in the management,development and deployment of the initiatives within their remit.Responsibilities will include direct management and oversight ofcross-functional working group teams as appropriate.

Role Dimensions

  • Global Cards is a $23bn asset class

delivering over $3bn of revenues. The role will support the Personal

Lending Strategy, the optimization of our offering and customer experience

for Cards opening in multiple channels, along with monitoring the relevant

Cards P&L and key drivers. The role will have responsibility for the

development of products, processes and positions globally for core

segments and for the development of global product capability. The role

will include profitability management across key metrics – asset growth,

revenue, spend, profitability, contribution, capital efficiency and operational

performance

Management of Risk

  • Thejobholder will ensure that fair treatment of our customers is at the heart ofeverything we do, both personally and as an organisation. This will be achievedby consistently displaying the behaviours required to support the Best Place toBank principles as in the UK, HK and other market equivalents of Make BetterProducts, Sell Them Properly and Keep Them Sold.
  • The jobholder will also continually

reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in

the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions,

legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices,

management restructurings, and the impact of new technology

Observation of InternalControls

  • Thejobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internalcontrols. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keepingappropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation ofinternal and external audit points, including issues raised by externalregulators.
  • Thejobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliancerisk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, AreaCompliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term ‘compliance’ embracesall relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the businesshas to comply.
  • Thiswill be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and byliaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at theearliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resourcesare in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture andoptimising relations with regulators.
