The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) is critical in embedding data and analytics capabilities across the Group to support with delivering today, whilst preparing us for the advances in the future. The CDAO, serves as a Centre of Excellence and delivery partner, bringing a diverse mix of people, skills, frameworks and standard methodology to support the Group in managing our data effectively and generating subsequent insight and value.

What will I be responsible for in my role?

The Data Strategy and Data Innovation Manager is responsible for helping to lead and shape projects and initiatives across the group to drive the Groupwide Data & Analytics Strategy and help realise our Group aspirations. This includes developing the Group’s Data / Data Management Strategy, embedding Data-by-Design, developing and refreshing the CDAO operating model and supporting with the embedding of innovative approaches and technologies to help deliver our strategy. The Manager will also support the Data Strategy Lead in delivering across their wider portfolio.

You will also support in the development and adoption of the operating model and support in an advisory capacity in the implementation of the Group’s data strategy. This will include supporting development and implementation of data management and data strategies aligned with the Group’s transformation objectives aligned with our analytics strategy.

The manager will be required to develop best practice patterns and guidance on data management in the cloud and support with overall delivery on group-wide initiatives to transition to cloud based technologies. You will drive efforts to ensure data management maturity tracking is operationalized and embedded in the organisation and support or lead on key executive level reporting for CDAO.

The manager may also coordinate analyst colleagues and support with shaping complex pieces of delivery aligned to their portfolio.

So what experience & skills do I need to apply?

We like people who come from diverse but relevant industry backgrounds, however as a minimum to be considered you’ll want to have the following:

  • Knowledge of data management, analytics and data science coupled with an understanding of how to support, use and exploit these capabilities
  • Good understanding of cloud technologies and approach to data management in the cloud with a keen interest in technology trends
  • Track record of solving business problems with technology and new ways of working

In terms of personal qualities which would suit this role, we’ll look for people who are comfortable being given rough guidance then planning their own work, someone with excellent written and graphic communication skills, someone who enjoys problem solving and someone who is comfortable working across multiple projects. Previous technical ‘hands on’ experience with data and tooling from either a data management or analytics perspective would be greatly beneficial!
