Mott MacDonald wish to recruit consultants at all levels to work in our Radioactive Waste Management Team, within our Energy Business. The posts offer opportunities to work on consultancy project portfolios/frameworks, business development activities and technical delivery and provide an excellent opportunity for those wishing to develop their careers in both a technically and commercially challenging business These roles will be to support our client locally and deliver projects in a number of areas including nuclear power generation, the naval nuclear programme and decommissioning. The role:
* Development of decommissioning safety cases and supporting references, including interfacing and providing updates to clients
* Participate in the preparation of bids, studies and projects regarding radwaste management and decommissioning
* Provide technical waste management expertise
* Advise on how decommissioning in design should be implemented through procurement specifications and design modifications
* Support the review and surveillance of contract deliverables including design substantiation reports, contract specifications, manufacturing and installation records
* Support to the review of design modifications impact on decommissioning

Candidate spec:

* Knowledge and experience of the application of ALARP in decommissioning
* Knowledge and experience of Radioactive Waste Management issues
* Understanding of key decommissioning risks and mitigations that support the ALARP argument
* Good working knowledge of legislation, policy, regulatory guidance and standards relating to decommissioning and radioactive waste management
* Knowledge and experience in decommissioning planning and implementation
* Experience of radioactive waste management practices and nuclear safety requirements, engineering, design, safety case and nuclear facility operation
* Experience of regulatory engagement and external stakeholder management
* Candidates with RPA/RWA qualifications (or working towards these) are especially encouraged to apply
