Network Rail Design Delivery (NRDD) is the Network Rail's in-house design consultancy which provides a managed service for design delivery. NRDD brings a range of different disciplines together including Building & Civils, Signalling, Track Design and Electrical & Plant (E&P) that complement each other to improve the overall diverse service offering

This role works across NRDD in our National team and is a varied and technically challenging role. You will work on a variety of exciting and phenomenal projects that range from helping Crossrail to commission, to Scotlands industry leading Rolling Programme for Decarbonisation.
About the role (External)
As one of the lead technical engineers in the traction power team you will be instrumental in crafting the decarbonisation agenda within NRDD and Network Rail and helping the railway to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions. You will be delivering designs and making decisions that will shape the railways electrical network for the next 50 years. You will also be responsible for getting the most out of our existing traction power network and solving complex issues.
Ideally but not essential, you will have extensive experience working with electrical power systems or traction power modelling and have an analytical and flexible approach. In addition, you will be adept at working at both strategic and detailed levels and be capable of managing a small team with delivering a variety of design projects on time and to budget.
This are the things you will need to have
- An engineering degree or equivalent industry-recognised training qualification.
- A demonstrable aptitude for option development.
- Strong evaluation and decision-making skills.
- A working knowledge of rail engineering; relevant successful experience working in the principal discipline and an adequate understanding of all other related disciplines.
- An ability to work and communicate effectively in a team context.
- An appreciation of all the life cycle stages of rail infrastructure.
- CDM, Auditing and risk assessment competencies.

Network Rail adheres to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the following pay range:
Salary £51,156 - £62,700 per annum
