Senior Material Coordinator

Would you like to work within our Submarines Business which has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Material Coordinator at our site in Barrow.

As a Senior Material Coordinator, you will be responsible for analysing and interrogating large amounts of data to ensure the readiness of material in line with the System of Work.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a varied role using different types of equipment. You will have wide exposure within the Business where you will be networking with a wide range of stakeholders.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Material Coordinator will involve:

Analysing and interrogating large data sets

Ensuring that material issues are resolved in a timely manner, kept up to date or escalating where appropriate

Participating in the assessment of departmental policies and procedures on a periodic basis to identify improvements and confirm that they are appropriate for business needs

Preparing and collating data to support departmental reports

Promoting ‘Right First Time’ contribute to Learning from Experience process and liaise with Continuous Improvement team throughout the material readiness/delivery phase

Providing training of team members with regard to use of appropriate business systems, tools and techniques to ensure compliance with function processes and procedures

Being the principal contact for a designated area, providing clear understanding of material status

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Material Coordinator:

Experience analysing and interrogating large amounts of data

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders and customers

Ability to identify and resolve issues in assigned area of responsibility

Experience in a Materials Requirements Planning role or similar

Good analytical skills

Highly motivated and driven to deliver departmental and business targets

Skilled in the use of standard Microsoft packages, excel, word and Powerpoint

SAP experience

You will be a confident candidate with the ability to liaise effectively with key stakeholders. You will be able to work well on your own and within a small team. You will have the ability to analyse and interrogate large amounts of data to tight timescales.
