Scrum Master Practice Manager
About the role
LV=GI is in an exciting period of growth and change, and much of this transformation is underpinned by our Business Change division. In our journey to become a truly Agile business, the Scrum Master practice was introduced 18 months ago. In the role of Scrum Master Practice Manager you will shape this Practice, providing leadership and management to a team of 11 Scrum Masters. Together you will support the wider LV=GI agenda: Performing at our best and Transforming what we do to remain trend-setters in the insurance space. Your management style will provide emphasis on people development and build an environment of continuous improvement.
You will be responsible for growing and leading your team of Scrum Masters, and actively shape our journey. This senior leadership role will allow you to be one of our SMEs of all things Agile, and exert your influence over the delivery of our change agenda. You will manage resource utilisation, and continue to grow a high performing Practice and drive a fast-paced Change environment.
You will be managing a team of senior people in the business, so your previous management experience will be well placed here. As you know, you get the best out of your team when you lead by example, so your technical background in IT and Scrum Master experience, will allow you to walk your talk. If you don’t have any insurance experience yet, you will certainly need to have worked within the financial sector to understand the industry.
Working with Product Managers, Business Analysts, IT specialists and leading Scrum Masters before, you have a good understanding of what challenges they face on a day to day basis. Your understanding of Agile in a Change Environment will be stretched to its limits as your focus will be on delivering high quality outcomes and working across organisational boundaries.
You know that management isn’t just about your direct reports: you will have nurtured stakeholder relationships and had experience influencing others up to Executive level. As an expert you will become part of a small community who are the go-to within the business on all things Agile. From a tech point of view, if you have knowledge of Change Management software such as Confluence, Jira and Sharepoint, then this will be a great advantage to you in this role. But you’ll be working with others from other tech backgrounds, so any other work you’ve done in development, analysis and coding in your early career will help you understand where they’re coming from.
