Job Description Summary

Who are we looking for?

We want you to aim to deliver the highest quality customer driven software whilst continually challenging, motivating, mentoring and supporting their engineering teams. They will work in cross-disciplinary teams delivering exciting customer driven solutions and high quality software and showcase excellent interpersonal and communication skill whilst efficiently working across the project life cycle to ensure software operates as intended. They will be an advocate for Engineering, providing a voice to engineers within the teams in resolution of impediments and issues as well as continually developing themselves with industry standard methodology and tooling used across their engineering team. This is a leadership level role and will blend both deep domain and technical expertise within a feature team and phenomenal passion for mentoring and developing people in a “player-coach” model.

Job Description

Develops and/or delivers budget plans for own area with mentorship from senior colleagues.

Meets the needs of significant customers related to complex, often customised products and services and/or leads a customer advisor department over a significant area.

Takes ownership for implementing formal development while informally coaching and mentoring throughout the organisation and investing in own personal development.

Identifies shortcomings, then suggests and implements improvements to existing business practices, while developing and delivering projects or a workstream within the organisational change programme.

Provides input into the development of IT Security policies, develops underlying procedures and monitors their implementation.

Runs the development and/or operation of knowledge management system in tandem with senior colleagues.

Develop a plan for a specific area of responsibility by leading others.

Sets longer term objectives and takes ownership for implementing and coordinating performance management systems for a substantial department within the organisation.

You'll lead a significant portion of the organisation's risk management and/or control process, supplying to the development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures.

Of course you'll make sure that a portfolio of suppliers are delivering required levels of service while reporting to senior colleagues.

Identifies and evaluates sophisticated expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.

Develops tactical plans for optimisation of resources and assets being run within a given area or department.

Create elements of a well built, robust system.

Meets changing requirements by developing new testing approaches and strategy for a defined range of products and/or operations.
