Job Description SummaryAims to deliver the highest quality customer driven software whilst continually challenging, motivating, mentoring and supporting their engineering teams. They will work in cross-disciplinary teams delivering exciting customer driven solutions and high quality software and showcase excellent interpersonal and communication skill whilst efficiently working across the project life cycle to ensure software operates as intended. This is a leadership level role and will blend both deep domain and technical expertise within a feature team and great passion for coaching and developing people in a “player-coach” model.

About the role:
As part of Consumer Servicing, the Card Servicing lab is building a flexible and multi skilled team based in Edinburgh city centre. Our purpose is to provide a market leading customer experience through the servicing of Debit and Credit cards via multiple channels, including digital.
We are responsible for servicing over 38 million active debit and credit cards across all LBG brands, and work alongside global industry leaders, including Visa and MasterCard, using data, technology and systems thinking to drive great outcomes and experiences for our customers.

You'll ensure software is built in a way that is consistent with the frameworks, patterns and practices that exist across the wider engineering community.
You'll understand and apply industry innovation, and the sharing of knowledge to provide solutions for complex business problems where no precedent may exist, and ensure the implementation of solutions where appropriate.
You'll mentor and develop your colleagues, providing clear and constructive feedback, whilst creating opportunities for learning and growth.
You'll also ensure applications are fast, secure and work across all manner of devices.
What we need from you:
You’ll be an enthusiastic, proactive and dedicated individual, with strong technical skills (Java, Spring, Docker, Kubernetes)
Drive high quality technical designs and solutions
Capable communicator with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to your peers and business colleagues.
Good collaboration skills, working across multiple technical and business areas to deliver outstanding, customer focused solutions
Passion for coaching junior members of the team
