Location: We are happy to consider applicants from any UK location local to a Mott MacDonald office, with a preference for one of our "IT hubs" that includes; Brighton, Birmingham, Newcastle, Southampton or Glasgow.
We are looking for a DevOps engineer to join our experienced friendly development team. You will have exceptional PowerShell scripting skills that will help you deliver an Azure DevOps and Github Enterprise service to our business.
You will also work with other teams to develop a myriad of automation tools in PowerShell to eliminate lots of manual tasks within the organisation. This means you must be comfortable working with new systems and technologies to deliver well thought out and quality solutions on systems you may not have worked with in the past.
This role requires expertise in PowerShell and you will be expected to provide guidance and drive best practices within the team. You will work closely with development teams to ensure they can rely on state-of-the-art, highly performant, Microsoft centric development environments, build systems, test plans and automation.
- Develop and maintain our Azure DevOps and GitHub enterprise business service
- Champion core DevOps behaviours in the business and the team
- Build CI/CD Pipelines as code using Azure Pipelines and YAML definitions
- Develop and create solutions in PowerShell to automate often performed tasks
- Ensure security and governance are considered a priority by applying security practices as part of the SDLC
