The Role

Global Trade Finance provides its clients with financing, risk mitigation and processing of cross-border import and export activity. Trade Operations Analyst/ Associate will lead oversight of strategic initiatives and projects within operations as well as review, recommend and implement new methods and procedures for processing improvements and efficiencies. The Analyst/ Associate will support EMEA Trade Operations Managerin the end-to-end ownership of a portfolio of clients’ billing through building strong partnerships with internal/ external stakeholders to deliver service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyse complex sets of data with the aim of improving turnaround times of transactions to meet ever-increasing client demands

  • Manage key stakeholders to ensure quick turnaround times for clients and create new processes that improve service

  • Participate in revenue recovery from clients and partner banks, and establish bill recovery methodology for sensitive clients whilst maintaining relationships

  • Collaborate with and educate clients on the invoicing for Standby Letters of Credit

  • Understand and analyse systemic limitations

  • Understand and align business requirements with those of Trade Finance Operations

  • Host meetings with senior management to analyse and review KPIs as well as proposing and presenting solutions for client escalations

  • Propose, implement and manage process enhancements including technology innovations

Skills you will learn/ acquire

  • Be able to understand key features and compare different Traditional Trade products

  • Be able to strike the right balance when collecting outstanding receivables

  • Gain experience with clients

  • Gain important business writing and verbal communication skills

Essential Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Tableau

  • Logical, analytical, organised and inquisitive

  • Ability to meet deadlines and able to work under pressure

  • Good communication skills both verbal and writing

  • Strong team player and ability to work in a matrix organisation

  • Good attention to detail

  • Proactive, high-energy and willing to challenge

  • Trade Finance knowledge preferred but not essential

  • Language skills an advantage
