Technical Document Writer
Would you like to play a key role in the support the production of technical bids? We currently have a vacancy for a Technical Document Writer at our site in Christchurch, Dorset.
As a Technical Document Writer, you will be gathering and organising information to support the writing of technical bids as well as improving the consistency of internal documentation. You will be expected to determine the needs of users of technical documentation and work with technical staff to make products and instructions easier to use.
You will write or revise supporting content for products and continuously collect user feedback to update and improve coherence.
This role will provide you with an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to different areas of the defence information as well as exposure to new technology.
Your main responsibilities as a Technical Document Writer will involve:
Producing well written documentation with the support of the engineering community
Owning compilation of documentation sets
Understanding and use of company standards and toolsets to facilitate the generation of information
Facilitating best practise in effective written communication
Preparing and maintaining documentation in support of Project delivery milestones
Ensuring the content, style, accuracy, completeness and configuration management of the documentation and their compliance to the applicable standards.
Liaising with other BAE Systems sites, customers and partners including if needs be travelling to other UK sites
Monitoring, recording and reporting work progress to ensure efficient execution of the tasks on time and within budget
Your skills and qualifications:
Experience writing technical bids and proposals
Previous experience in the production and maintenance of user documentation ideally both in a military and a IT environment
Ability to explain concepts clearly
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic understanding of software and computers
Interest in Technology
