ASSISTANT PROJECT ACCOUNTANT
Would you like to play a key role supporting our Defence Information Team? We currently have a vacancy for an Assistant Project Accountant at our site in Frimley, Christchurch and Yeovil.
As an Assistant Project Accountant, you will get exposure across circa 100 projects ranging from small value contracts up to £76m. This will involve all the financial activities required to support the successful running of all DI projects. The role will also require regular engagement with other functions such as Project Management, Project Control and Commercial.
This role will provide you with a level of exposure to many different aspects of finance. The level of project finance understanding that will be gained within this role will be a fantastic development opportunity.
Your main responsibilities as an Assistant Project Accountant will involve:
Reviewing and submitting monthly actuals and forecasts for order intake, sales, profit and cash including risk and opportunity schedules
Reporting against variances and working with Project Managers to ensure reliable and robust financial forecasting
Reviewing estimates to complete and actuals with Programme Managers, produce monthly project reports for management review
Support customer invoicing across the business
Completing Project Reconciliations each month to source systems, including for Invoices raised, sales generated, debt outstanding, actual costs
Providing support to Project Balance Sheet reviews
Providing other financial data and analysis to the Business Group Leads as required and to undertake ad hoc tasks as required by the Senior Project Accountant / Senior Finance Manager
Your skills and qualifications:
Proven work experience in analysing large volumes of financial data
Proven work experience of managing senior stakeholders
Demonstrable experience of using Excel at an advanced level
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and PowerPoint etc.
Proven work experience of working within a Project Management and/or a Finance environment
The ability to organise, store and retrieve data, information and content in a digital environment.
