Would you like to lead a team developing and maintaining training equipment for the UK’s latest frontline fighter, or Virtual/Mixed Reality trainers for submarines or Typhoon and Hawk jets? We currently have a vacancy for a Project Manager at our site in Hillend.
As a Project Manager, you will be working with leading edge games technologies, applying them in the fields of aircraft, ground defence vehicles, air defence and air space management and maintenance training. You will also be producing systems for high fidelity crew/operator compartments where high levels of training immersion are required.
This role will provide you with the scope to develop and enhance your skills and knowledge, with potential to become a leader in a global business.
Your main responsibilities as a Project Manager will involve:
Managing the project delivery, planning and monitoring
Managing project budget and schedule
Identifying, developing and managing stakeholder relationships
Accurate reporting of project status to team members, leadership and external stakeholders
Ensuring project and quality management processes are effectively applied
Supporting project quality and lifecycle management reviews
Identifying and managing project risks, opportunities and issues
Managing product safety reviews
Mentoring of team members, providing guidance and support
Your skills and qualifications:
Project management experience
Engineering or defence background is preferred
Experience of managing multi - disciplined teams
Experience leading teams
Experience of working to defined and structured lifecycle processes with formal gate reviews and a culture of measurement and continuous improvement
Excellent problem-solving skills
