Configuration Control Engineer
We currently have a vacancy for a Configuration Control Engineer at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.
As a Configuration Control Engineer, you will work within our newly established team who are responsible for the management of engineering asset information across our submarine site and providing advice on configuration control.
You will play a pivotal role in the transformation and development of Site Engineering processes to manage and help in determining the Site Engineering configuration baseline.

Your main responsibilities as a Configuration Control Engineer will involve:
Coordinating and executing engineering tasks, or packages of work, and to provide guidance and advice in a consistent professional manner within the discipline, taking cognisance of appropriate, timescales and quality standards, providing leadership where required
Ensuring the Barrow site & facilities configuration baseline is adequately maintained and is up to date, thus facilitating the provision of a safe basis for project/maintenance and engineering teams to manage, maintain or modify plant, equipment and facilities across the Barrow site
Storing, retrieving and updating engineering information/drawings, as well as inputting technical information into the relevant document management system
Providing guidance to Site & Facilities on configuration control
Supporting long term improvements, developing new processes and implementing/ developing new opportunities to ensure efficiencies within the team
Liaising with a wide range of departments across the BAE Barrow site, with opportunity to gain new contacts throughout BAE
Importing, exporting, building and reading reports
Assisting Engineering departments and determining engineering baselines
Your skills and qualifications as a Configuration Control Engineer:
Maintenance/ Engineering/ Project Engineering experience
Knowledge of CAD software/ Revit
Change management experience
Configuration management, experience and knowledge

You will be proficient in Microsoft packages, data and reporting skills. You will also have good written and verbal communication skills.

Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.
