Senior Integration Trials Engineer

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Integration Trials Engineer – Communications on our Type 26 (T26) programme, to be based at our sites in Scotstoun and Portsdown Technology Park.
Our Combat Systems form the “brains” of complex warships which crew members depend on to operate effectively in the world’s most difficult and dangerous environments, and our Combat Systems teams re involved in the design, development, integration and provision of support that enable navies to protect nations. We provide a range of combat system products and services that support ships throughout their lives, working with our customers to ensure they can respond to ever-evolving maritime threats.
As a Senior Integration Trials Engineer, you will support the Combat Systems Trials programme from development and installation through to sea trials and acceptance. This is a very varied, hands on role where no two weeks will be the same, and is an ideal development opportunity in Combat Systems Engineering and Integration.
Please note that this post can be based either at Portsdown Technology Park with transfer to Scotstoun in 2022 or Scotstoun with secondment to Portsdown until 2022; thereafter it will Scotstoun based for integration activities in the First of Class build programme.
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Integration Trials Engineer - will involve:
Generating, delivering and reviewing Acceptance, Assurance and Integration Trials (PINTS, SINTS & GINTS) documentation. This will include the research and inclusion of other platform (eg T45, T23, QEC) integration packages and the ‘pull through’ of information as necessary
Undertaking the preparations for, conducting of, analysis and formal reporting of acceptance, assurance and integration trials to demonstrate Whole Ship and Integration Requirements (WSR & ITR) associated with individual CS Equipment and ensuring their operation within the context of the wider Combat System
Conducting CS interface fault finding, diagnostics and testing to ensure continuity of signal path on system interface cables
Conducting Data Recordings and Analysis to support integration evidence capture.
Generating Trials Reports, then compiling and presenting Acceptance and Assurance evidence.
Supporting the T26 CSE Delivery Managers and wider T26 CS Trials team through the provision of specialist engineering expertise as required.
To use and assist development of the T26 CS Trials Management, Observation Reporting and other database toolsets.
Your skills and qualifications:
In depth knowledge of Combat System Equipment used in the Maritime Environment and experience of system integration and trials is essential
Ability to generate Integration Trials documentation from Requirements, Interface Specifications and other Supplier documentation
Ability to conduct CS Trials Schedules, then analyse and report results
Experience of Tactical Data Link systems would be advantageous – Link 11, Link 16, Data Link Processing (DLPS) in a trials and/or operational environment)
Knowledge and experience using CS Integration tools (e.g. SAINTT, TRACIT, TACS) and other Test Equipment
Understanding and ability to manipulate CS Design and Trials information stored within database toolsets. (System Architect, DOORS, RQM, JIRA)

Salary: £35-50k depending on skills and experience
