Programme Management Office Lead

Would you like to set up and operate high quality PMO processes across a large, complex programme or a portfolio of projects? We currently have a vacancy for a PMO Lead at our site in The Strand – Preston.

As a PMO Lead, you will report to the Head of PMO and support programme and portfolio’s by adapting, identifying and applying PMO practices in different circumstances, to develop these practices, guide and instruct others in their application.

You will be responsible for working with projects ensuring they are being delivered to time, cost and quality, using correct toolsets, processes and procedures and providing accurate and timely reporting as required.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with autonomy to design and embed new, improve and evolve existing governance practice working with the central PMO. Working in cross-functional teams you will be exposed to high complexity projects/programmes across the Enterprise IT Services business as well as working with other business units depending on the projects you are supporting with.

Your main responsibilities as a PMO Lead will involve:

Establish governance activities across the Programme

Run and own the administration of multiple core PMO processes

Create information dashboards to improve Programme operational performance

Collaboratively work with the Projects/Programme teams to create an integrated view of the portfolio and drive for recommendations / interventions to proactively improve performance enabling the Programme Lead to recommend course corrections

Reviewing and production of PMC reporting at programme / portfolio level for Senior stakeholders and steering boards, tailored to different audiences and ensuring deadlines are adhered to

Insight and analysis of data to proactively identify issues and trends and support Programme Manager or Portfolio Lead and Project Managers in delivery

Leading risk, assumption, issue and opportunity management at programme / portfolio level, ensuring common risks are managed at Programme level

Your skills and qualifications:

Educated to HMC or equivalent in a related discipline

Professional Project Management Qualification (APM, Prince 2, PMDY)

Experience using Project Management Toolsets (MS Project, MS Project Server Online)

Advance user of MS Excel – VLOOPUPs and Pivot Tables

Comprehensive PMO Experience demonstrated in a professional role within a business or project

In-depth understanding of risk, issue and dependency management at project and portfolio level.
